BJJ Outliers Invitational

On the 28th March, Ireland’s largest ever submission grappling invitational show will go down in the Midlands Park Hotel, Portlaoise. BJJ Outliers Invitational is set to spark fireworks with many big names announced for the main card already. The show will be ran by Polaris vet and SBG Tullamore head coach Kieran Davern, who aims to bring the best talent grappling has to offer to the midlands.

Polaris champ-champ Ash Williams, hailing from Chris Rees Academy Wales, will be taking on the ADCC veteran Kamil Wilk from Team Zenith Łódź in Poland in a barn-burner of a lightweight title match! Expect scrambles, entries into the legs and edge of your seat action from both athletes.

Another notable matchup is between Satoshi Ishii of Team CroCop Croatia and Kamil Uminski of Alligotores Fight Club Poland. Ishii is a former Olympic gold medalist in Judo, while Uminski is a 4x ADCC European champion. The two heavyweights are currently dabbling in MMA, so expect to see many explosive attacks, especially from standing.

Other fights not to miss include Dan Strauss vs. Mariusz Domasat, Ash Amos vs. Mariusz Grzywinski, and a title match between Paul Redmond and Mateusz Szczeciński. It’s clear to see the Polish are looking to make a statement for themselves, proving they are a powerhouse on the Jiu Jitsu scene.

The undercard will feature many up and coming grapplers on the Irish and European scene. The youngest bout on the card sees local Jack Dolan take on Tyreeze Cunliffe in what promises to be a fast paced match. Others surging through the ranks include Moritz Köllensperger, Ben Hills, Ciaran Brohan and many others.
